Smugglers flee raid in Sai Kung Police confiscated a delivery van and seized HK$2.9 million worth of games consoles, mobile phones and accessories destined for the mainland yesterday. Officers made the seizure after they had spotted about 10 smugglers loading the goods onto a speedboat at Tsam Chun Wan, Sai Kung, at about 1.30am. The smugglers escaped in speedboats and fled towards the mainland, but they left behind the goods in the van. Forcible arrest over HK$30 meal A man, 42, was arrested for theft of a lunchbox and drink, worth about HK$30, from a convenience store at the junction of Sai Yee Street and Playing Field Road, in Mong Kok. A policeman suffered minor injuries when the suspect put up a struggle during the arrest. Motorcycles and van torched Ten motorcycles and a van parked in Kwong Lee Road, Cheung Sha Wan, were damaged in an arson attack at about 5am. Local detectives are investigating. Firemen save suicidal woman Firemen rescued a suicidal woman, 44, from the window ledge outside a 23rd-floor flat at Aqua Marine, Sham Shing Road, Cheung Sha Wan after a four-hour standoff. Four firemen were lowered by ropes from the 24th floor and pulled her back into the flat. 19-year-old mugged for HK$5,000 A man is being hunted by police after a 19-year-old man was pushed to the ground and robbed of HK$5,000 in Nam On Street, Shau Kei Wan, just after midnight. He was treated in hospital for minor cuts. Man held over mobile phone pics A 24-year-old man was arrested for using his mobile phone to take photographs up a woman's skirt at Admiralty MTR station. He was being held for questioning. Fall from hospital window A man, 36, was fighting for his life after falling from the Eastern Hospital's Barrack Block in Chai Wan at about 4.30am.
