We find Hong Kong's hottest eats 'n' treats Simply Thai Level 11, Times Square Causeway Bay (Branches also at Telford Plaza, Langham Place, Grand Century Place, New Town Plaza) Phone: 2506 1212 Website: www.maxims.com.hk Grub: Mainly Thai fusion, such as roasted lamb rack with green curry and fresh coconut panna cotta, with some classic dishes such as roasted pork neck. Vibe: Intimate, elegant and laidback modern Thai decor. It can get busy and extremely noisy in the evenings. Who to bring: All five branches are based in shopping malls, making them perfect for big groups of family or friends who need somewhere convenient to meet after a long day of shopping, or tourists who only recognise big landmarks. Also perfect for a first date - easy to get to, and easy to leave if necessary ... What's hot: There's a great selection of refreshing, fruity mocktails to whet your appetite before delving into the food menu. The lamb curry, pork neck, fried morning glory with yellow bean sauce and chilli, Thai salt and pepper tofu and panna cotta are all highly recommended, but nearly all the dishes are well-balanced, delicate and not overly spicy. What's not: The Thai fishcakes tasted bland and rubbery. Cost: Great value for money. Nine dishes was more than enough for five and came to around HK$115 per head, including drinks.
