Mr. is... basically former indie band White Noise: Alan, Dash, Ronny and M. J. plus a new drummer Tom. When we were signed and offered a record deal, Hong Kong band guru Alan Tam wing-lun suggested we change our original name as 'White' can mean 'nothingness' which is not a good sign. So, we changed to Mr.
Mr. means... normal guys like we are. We decided to call ourselves Mr. because we are working class and ordinary people. If we end up doing anything extraordinary, it'll be a major encouragement to many of the bands out there.
We are... a young band that formed last spring. Although we have very different personalities, we are like keys and locks to each other as we fit together so well.
We play... melodic Brit-rock tunes greatly influenced by Radiohead. Some may find Alan sounds like Eason Chan Yik-shun, but if you listen more closely, it's not hard to hear our unique sound. But we're more concerned with whether or not our message is reaching our listeners.
After having a record deal... we try to stay honest to our style and ideology but it is inevitable to have to add a bit of commercial spin to our music. We also see it as a chance to offer fans something different from Canto-pop.
