APPARENTLY it is now fashionable for consumer products to be advertised using location shots among ''exotic'' rural and tribal peoples.

  It makes me sad and angry to see Amazonian forest dwellers being used to plug hamburgers.

  Apart from logging, a significant cause of deforestation in Brazilian Amazonia is land clearance for cattle farming, to supply the ever-increasing world demand for beef products.

  Thus contributors to this environmental rape doubly exploit those whose habitat is being destroyed.

      This McDonald's ad is culturally offensive and adds insult to injury.
