Brilliant Chapter could not have made a bigger impression winning at his second start for the John Size stable and, despite a steep rise in weight, he looks to have Sunday's final leg of the Triple Trio at Sha Tin at his mercy. He put the writing on the wall with an excellent first-up performance after covering ground behind Heartline on September 28, and he looked a transformed horse when stepping out two weeks later. The four-year-old settled back, covered ground, but showed superior finishing speed to quickly have the race in his keeping and ended up winning with plenty in reserve. He takes an 11-pound rise in weight for the success, but early indications are he should have little trouble in measuring up to better races as the season progresses. His main danger, and a appealing double banker, is promising Young Label. The Almond Lee Yee-tat-trained gelding looked the part in two appearances last season, and he will be vastly improved by his first-up second to Whisky Power. He will appreciate the rise in distance, should get the run of the race, and will be the one Brilliant Chapter has to gun down in the final stages. Others worthy of inclusion are Kung Fu, Royal Pumpkin, Namjong Hunter, Speedy and Super Plus. In the opening leg, Irish Jig is deserving of one more chance with a return to turf. The three-year-old resumed with a sound effort down the Sha Tin straight, before appearing to struggle to handle the AWT at his first attempt last start. The two runs should have him at his peak, he should get a nice run behind a fast speed, and he has more ability than his record suggests. Bundle O' Gold makes his local debut and creates plenty of interest, while others capable of figuring are Warrior, High Mark, Island Speed and Hit Song. In the middle pin, Something Special fits the banker bill after indicating he had returned in good order with a smart third to Billion at Happy Valley on October 8. He showed terrific promise last season, and will be all the better for that outing where he finished strongly wide out on the track to indicate he was looking for more ground. He will relish the 1,800m, and looks attractive under a light weight. His main dangers will come from Special Dragon, Supernova, Amazing Choice and Baazigar.
