What do you think of the Mega Tower transport plan?

The traffic-impact assessment submitted by Hopewell Holdings for the Mega Tower project has been rejected by the Transport Department ('Mega Tower plan hits traffic obstacle,' October 25). In particular, there seem to have been problems with 'traffic flow and traffic projection'.

Submitting a traffic-impact assessment should be an easy process.

The developer uses data which will be acceptable to the relevant government department and, based on that assessment, has to make proposals to tackle the problems outlined.

It appears that in this case the transport commissioner wants Hopewell to 'provide more details' for the traffic assessment.

The basic problem with the Mega Tower project relates to inherent physical constraints.

The site that has been chosen is simply incapable of handling such a huge amount of traffic and pedestrians.
