HK$43m worth of goods confiscated

Customs officers intercepted a mainland cargo vessel off Black Point on Monday night and seized HK$43 million worth of goods: 16,300 liquid crystal display panels, more than 1,000 second-hand laptop computers and 24 tonnes of resin - apparently destined for Nanhai in Guangdong. A further 1,000 second-hand laptops and two men were held during a follow-up raid in Yuen Long on Tuesday. The two, aged 32 and 62, have been released on bail.
