Christmas is coming which means one of the city's coolest events - Operation Santa Claus (OSC) - is just around the corner.

OSC is an annual charity campaign jointly founded by the South China Morning Post and Radio Television Hong Kong in 1988.

Over the past 20 years, more than HK$110 million has been raised for more than 80 charities through a variety of creative fund-raising events.

Schools are encouraged to join in each year and come up with creative, innovative and unique ways to raise money.

For example, last year, students from American International School performed the musical Fee Fi Fo Fum as part of their annual Winter Celebration, with proceeds going to OSC.

The school had also held a Red/ Green Day. Students donated HK$20 to wear casual clothes in those festive colours to school.

Diocesan Girls' School (DGS) chose to tie their school bazaar to the charity, selling everyday items such as folders, bags, umbrellas and slippers designed by different school clubs and featuring the school logo
