Bookings for birth registration
The Immigration Department will extend its appointment booking services to include birth registration of newborn babies from today. The first available appointment date for birth registration is November 10. The 24-hour booking of appointments can be made on the Net at www.gov.hk/birthregistration or by calling 25980888.
Husband injured in knife attack
A woman, 36, was arrested for attacking her husband, 39, with a knife at a flat in Wan Fung Street, Wong Tai Sin, around midnight yesterday. He was in serious condition in Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Separately, police arrested a man, 35, and his wife, 34, after they fought at a flat on Yau Tong Estate, Kwun Tong, at about 6.30am.
Police seek video clue on baby
Police watched video footage at a supermarket in King's Road, North Point, in an attempt to identify the person who abandoned a baby girl on a shelf on Saturday. The baby remained in critical condition.
