Always bet Early

ALWAYS Early (Next Best) can outsprint them in tonight's sixth event on the equitrack card which seems dedicated to speed.

The Alex Wong Yu-on trained eight-year-old is the best horse in this race, I have no doubt about that, as he's a Class Two horse racing against Class Three company.

Admittedly, so too is Purple Gold but he doesn't appear to be right in himself.

Always Early has run twice over course and distance this season and was a bit unlucky not to beat Silent Majority last time out as he lost his place at a vital stage when the field swung past the Shell sign.

The main danger could well come from Lawrie Fownes' Irene's Pet. Fownes is a master at training bad legged horses and to get two wins from Irene's Pet this season is no mean achievement.

Irene's Pet is perfectly drawn in barrier one and put up a very good time when scoring on his most recent outing.
