1. Ray La Montagne - Trouble Ray is the most recent pop rock, grass-roots singer that I really like. He has the voice that I wish I was born with. His voice in Trouble is so raspy and organic but it doesn't feel like he is faking it or trying too hard.
2. John Mayer - Stop This Train
Everything is good about John Mayer. I like the lyrics of this one which paints a very nice picture of life. It talks about life being continuous and constantly moving, sometimes even rushing off and you want to stop and think.
3. Brian Mcknight - Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda
He's a great, talented vocalist. To me, Stevie Wonder is the best black male vocalist and then it's Brian. And this is one of those songs that you can listen to over and over again.
4. Al Green - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart It's a very subtle song. The Bee Gees actually did it first but Al Green's version is very soulful. I listen to his songs to get inspired but you can also get very discouraged at the same time.
