No Hong Kong sporting fixture is complete without networking, and the corporate boxes provide the perfect forum.

Despite current economic woes, many of the leading business marques were gathered in their marquees. They included Standard Chartered, Linklaters, RBS/ABN Amro, JP Morgan, KPMG, Cathay Pacific, Boase Cohen and Collins, and Strawberry Cosmetic Services.

But by far the box with the most colour and movement was Leighton Contractors. What Americans call a 'cooler' and New Zealanders call a 'chilly bin', Australians call an esky - a large plastic insulated box to transport cool drinks.

In ubiquitous Australian party style, the esky in the Leighton's box was filled to the brim with beer, water and ice, with the opener tied onto the esky's handle, as a missing opener cuts down on drinking time. The sea of matching yellow shirts of the largest Australian construction firm in Hong Kong stood out against the green pitch.

Project director Ray Brewster said: 'I played Sunday cricket for 26 years, and Saturday cricket every year I've been here. The Sixes is a great event and it's great to have international players on the pitch. To have the ability to see and talk to the players is a great opportunity. Getting up close and personal on the pitch and pitting ourselves against the world's best makes a world of difference.'
