George Lamplough has been a partner with London-headquartered international law firm Holman Fenwick Willan for over 12 years. However, over the past few days he's also been acting as team liaison manager for the All Stars.

'Apart from my involvement with cricket, my firm's at the cutting edge of sports sponsorship. This December, for the first time, we're putting a rugby team in the Professional Sevens in Hong Kong, and we also sponsor the hockey section of the Hong Kong Football Club. We fielded a team in the Dubai Sevens this year and also fielded a team for the Professional Sevens in Singapore in September. For sport to grow and prosper in Hong Kong, we need corporate sponsorship, now more than ever.

'As team liaison, it's my job to make sure everything runs smoothly. I'm sharing this role with Bin Fernandes. It's up to us to make sure that everyone on the team keeps smiling and enjoys the game.'

Lamplough plays Saturday League for Craigengower Cricket Club.

'A lot of corporate people in Hong Kong, particularly lawyers, play golf,' he said.

'I played cricket as a lad back in New Zealand, and my wife and I like cricket, so we've chosen it as our family sport as I want to play a game that I can get involved in with by two boys, Gianluca and Giacomo.'
