Students compete for best plan
The Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) School of Business has launched a business plan competition that aims to provide young people with an opportunity to learn how to operate a business.
Dating with Social Enterprises - a competition open to students from Form Four to Form Seven - launched last week, attracting 47 teams from 31 local secondary schools.
Each school was limited to two teams with a maximum of three to four students, and each team has been assigned an experienced businessman to serve in a mentoring role.
The goal of every team was to come up with a plan for a social enterprise that could be of service to the community and make a brief proposal in either Chinese or English.
Teams chosen for the finals will have to hand in a detailed proposal, elaborating the business's operations, goals and social objectives.
The plans will be judged by a panel of businesspeople and academics and the winners announced at the Prize Presentation Ceremony on March 28.
