PolyU holds forum to review earthquake relief six months on from Sichuan tragedy

Polytechnic University held a forum on Sichuan's post-quake reconstruction this week, six months after the tragedy. The forum reviewed work done by PolyU's Sichuan Post-disaster Reconstruction Support and Research Centre in collaboration with Sichuan University and explored ways to speed up reconstruction.
Researcher helping drug addicts wins grant
A Baptist University biology professor has been awarded a research grant to support his work on the use of Chinese medicine to help drug addicts. Professor Ken Yung received a grant of 200,000 yuan (HK$227,300) from the National Science Foundation of China.
Australian writers to hold workshops

Two Australian writers will host workshops with the Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association and Women in Publishing Society next week. Taking part will be author Sherryl Clark and former book publisher Susanna Bryceson. The sessions with the YWCA will be held from Monday to Friday (www.esmdywca.org.hk) and those with the Society will take place today and next Saturday (www.hkwips.org/).
