Well-known local artists and athletes have come together to record the theme song of next year's East Asian Games, which will be hosted by Hong Kong.

It is the first large-scale, multi-sports international event to be held in the city.

The Games will kick off on December 5 next year.

More than 60 singers and DJs, along with some of Hong Kong's leading athletes, pledged their support for the showpiece by joining the recording.

Written by M. Keith Chan Siu-kei, the theme song was produced by the RTHK, and composed by renowned musician Peter Kam Pui-tat.

It is closely tied with the Games slogan, 'Be the Legend'. The song aims to promote the sporting spirit and urge athletes to strive for their best and make history at the event. The artists include the music industry's biggest names, such as Jacky Cheung Hok-yau, Eason Chan Yik-shun and Miriam Yeung Chin-wah. They are joined by top local athletes, including badminton player Wang Chen, bowling star Wu Siu-hong and record-breaking swimmer Stephanie Au Hoi-shun.
