Krystal Meyers' third album, Make Some Noise, departs from the Christian rock of her previous releases and moves into the realm of pop and dance.
But although she is a strict Christian, her lyrics don't bash you over the head with any heavy religious overtones.
If you didn't know Meyers was a Christian rock, it's possible you wouldn't make the connection. Most of the album deals with common teen questions like one's purpose in life. The title track is a rocking dance anthem that will have you turning up the volume and doing as the title suggests.
There are a lot of strong dance beats and synth sounds. Shine could have been pulled straight off a Britney Spears album, with its heavy digital bass beats and digitised filtered vocals.
But the album is not all uptempo dance songs. There are several ballads, too, like the passionate My Freedom and Up To You.
There is a more religious theme to some tracks, but it is very subtle. On the whole, this album is a very enjoyable collection of fun pop songs.
