Chan closes in on world finals

Youngster Chan Hei-man won the first selection race for next year's ISAF Youth World regatta after she finished first in the junior section at the Hong Kong Open yesterday at Stanley. The 17-year-old Chan (pictured) came fourth in the overall youth standings, but her score of 38 was best among the girls. Andy Leung Ho-tsun topped the table, but since he will not be eligible for youth competition next year, second-placed Dominic Brettell could join Chan as the boys' selection.
