Each week we talk to HK's brightest and best Name Siu Cheong-hung School Wa Ying School Grade Form Three Sport Volleyball Achievements Cheong-hung, 15, led his school to third place in the Inter-school Tournament (Grade C). He is a member of the Hong Kong junior volleyball team. Soundbite 'I first started playing volleyball in Primary Three. I was bigger than kids my age so my teachers encouraged me to play,' said Cheong-hung. 'At the beginning, volleyball was just a hobby, but I gradually developed a love for it. 'I really like volleyball because it's a team sport and involves a lot of tactics. There are many different situations in volleyball and we have to handle them as a team. I also think the fast pace of the game makes it very exciting. 'Volleyball has taught me to be a more sociable person, and to think about others. After playing together with my teammates, I learned the importance of caring for others. 'I practise five days a week and play tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays. 'I have to manage my time well in order to keep up with my school work. I spend my lunch break and travelling time studying and doing homework. 'I want to do well in my studies because I want to go to university to compete in inter-university games. 'The standards at university are so much higher than at inter-school tournaments. I am really looking forward to taking part in those matches.' From his coach 'Cheong-hung is very young, but he already has a lot of experience since he started playing at such a young age,' said Law Wing-fai. 'He is tall and talented and he will be one of the core players of our junior squad. He has good offensive skills and is well ahead of players his age.' Ambitions 'I hope to represent the Hong Kong volleyball team one day,' said Cheong-hung.
