Relax and rejuvenate with a luxury hotel spa package that offers soothing sauna, facial and massage before a meal next to its Roman-style pool
We all know that stress, tiredness, meals on the go and too much alcohol and caffeine can make your skin look dull, your spirits sag and the circles around your eyes look like sunken pits, but many of us can't afford the time or the money for regular, relaxing holidays.
Hope is at hand, however. The Peninsula's latest spa package will leave you feeling as if you have just had a weekend away. The 60-minute facial hydrates and soothes stressed skin, while the 50-minute back cleansing and massage is ideal preparation for festive party dresses that reveal backs and shoulders.
'An Experience at the Peninsula' begins with up to an hour's relaxation in the spa's steam room and sauna. The steam room is circular and in rich chocolate mosaic tiles, centred by a huge glowing orange crystal, while the sauna offers superb views over Victoria Harbour. To cool down, the shower has three settings: a rain shower scented with tropical flowers, a cooling mist with hints of peppermint and jet sprays for targeting different muscles. The treatment then begins with the therapist asking guests to choose two of four essential oils to be used for the treatment. Guests can choose from a Skin Rescue Facial for dry and damaged skin or an Instant Brightener Facial to smooth and brighten the skin. The back treatment includes exfoliation, cleansing and a moisturising mask followed by a deeply relaxing and expertly executed back massage.
The spa uses Espa products, all of which are deliciously scented, and every step in the treatment is done with care.
The package also includes a choice of breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea served at the hotel's Roman-style pool. Meals are from the Naturally Peninsula menu, which features light and healthy cuisine and was created by Peninsula hotels' nutrition consultant Gabrielle Tuscher.
