It's time to rethink the phrase 'it's a dog's life'. Yes, some pooches do have it tough, but most of the pampered pets I know spend their days sleeping, eating and doing their business. Model Ana Rivera took spoiling her pup to the extreme last week by designing four gourmet recipes for her terrier Gucci (no really, that's her dog's name). Actually, the whole kooky canine Christmas cuisine idea came from dog chow company Cesar's, which recruited Rivera to create these paws-itively barking mad recipes last week. In case you care, Gucci enjoyed a doggie lasagne made from a tin of Cesar's Italian Beef, Pasta and Vine Tomato, mixed with fresh tomato, lasagne noodles, penne noodles and lactose-free shredded cheese. Also on the menu was a tin of Cesar's Baked Chicken with Thyme and Pumpkin, combined with fresh spinach, pumpkin, mixed vegetables and Japanese rice. Perhaps it's just the unrefined taste buds of the mutts I've known, but it seems to me that most dogs prefer licking themselves than barking for a taste of tomato or spinach. Who knows, maybe the Michelin people will want to rate these dishes a star or two in their next guide.
