Firm director gets community service

A managing director of herbal-tea maker Wong Lo Kat (International) was sentenced in the District Court to 240 hours of community service yesterday for falsifying invoices to obtain HK$1.4 million in loans. Agnes Wong Kin-yee, 62, was convicted of seven counts of false accounting and fined HK$175,000. Wong falsified invoices showing that three firms had sold three machines to Wong Lo Kat so that the tea maker could get letters of credit.
