Police are investigating the posting of semi-nude photographs on the Web this week that were taken in public places including the kiosk and viewing terrace in Tai Po Waterfront Park.

Ten photos showing a semi-naked female and a fully-clothed male in public areas of Tai Po had been found on the adult area of a popular online discussion forum, uwants.com, since Monday, Tai Po district councillor Kwan Wing-yip said.

The photos were taken in the daytime at the kiosk, viewing terrace and jogging trail in Tai Po Waterfront Park, the entrance of a Chinese medicine factory in the Tai Po Industrial Area and an open area in Tai Mei Tuk.

'These immoral pictures taken in public area of a popular park in Tai Po make residents worry about an unhealthy atmosphere in the community,' Mr Kwan said.

'Passers-by were even found in the pictures.'

Mr Kwan raised concerns about the photos after he received a complaint from residents on Tuesday, and he reported the case to police yesterday.

The pictures had been removed from the forum yesterday.
