Grub: A hidden stall in Kowloon City market providing great Thai food.
Vibe: A typical indoor market environment. The place is old, the floor is wet. It is one of many stalls in the food court. Yet the casual environment allows one to relax, eat freely and really savour the food.
Who to bring: People who do not mind eating in a food court. Great for big gatherings, especially for teenagers.
The Thai food is modified to suit local taste.
What's hot: Curry crab is the must-try. It is not spicy at all. The crab is large and fresh. the white meat tasted really good in the curry sauce! It would be a great idea to order some bread or a bowl of rice to go with the yummy curry spices.
The papaya salad is excellent. It is really fresh and tasty, although perhaps a bit too spicy. People who can't handle highly spiced food should stay away.
The fried spring rolls and shrimp cakes are also very nice. They are crunchy and taste even better with the sweet-sour sauce.
Go for the Tom Yum Goong soup, if you can do hot and spicy.
What's not: No MTR to Kowloon City. You have to either take a bus or mini-bus there.
It is inside the market, and the ventilation is bad.
Cost: HK$150 per person, including service charge.
