Woman driver escapes death
A 53-year-old woman cheated death after her car overturned and caught fire in Central yesterday morning. The woman lost control of her car at about 7am, causing it to hit a slope and topple over. She had been trying to turn into Bowen Road. The woman was rescued by passers-by before the car caught fire. She was taken to Queen Mary Hospital for a check-up but was later discharged.
Four men attacked in Yuen Long
Four men, aged from 17 to 21, were attacked by about a dozen people in Yuen Long. Police said the four had been walking along On Ning Road at about 4am when the attack happened. The men told police that without any warning, a dozen people started to chase them and attack them with glass bottles. The four men were sent to Pok Oi Hospital where they were in stable condition.
Three injured in traffic accident
Three people were injured in a traffic accident involving a truck and a car in Tsuen Wan. Police said the crash happened on Tuen Mun Road near Belvedere Garden shortly before 10.30am. The 51-year-old driver of the car, a 38-year-old woman passenger and a two-year-old girl were taken to Yan Chai Hospital in stable condition. The 44-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt.
