Hi, my name is Reggie, and I am a fashion hoarder. There you have it.

Pop culture and tradition would have us believe the New Year should be the time to clean up, to make room for the new.

But I defy that. Why can't I have the new AND the old?

My wardrobe, although disorganised, can be likened to a vintage store that I don't have to pay money to get things from.

The stretchy striped polo shirt I got from that really cool store in West Hollywood from 10 years ago; the Nehru-collar linen vest that I used to wear strolling around in the village when I had that tan; the Tibetan-print raw silk scarf that I dug up from a shop in Kathmandu and that Gaultier long coat with detachable plaid cape, still looking uber-cool after so many years and showing what ingenious design is all about.

Reality is reality, however. It has been my New Year's resolution for some years now to acquire a 1,000 sq ft walk-in closet, but every 12 months it goes back onto the wish list. So until this resolution is achieved, even a hoarder like me has to shed some items.
