With the release of his stupendously successful debut Born To Do It, Craig David became one of the most promising talents in the world of soul. But with four studio albums released and 13 million sold, his fortunes seem to have turned, with sales dropping from multi-platinum early in his career to his Greatest Hits entering the British charts at a disappointing #38.

To the 28-year-old Brit, this compilation represents 'the history of my work so far and the catalyst to my future'. It features the chart-topping and best-loved singles Fill Me In and 7 Days, a further five Top 10 singles, and his collaborations Rewind with Artful Dodger and Rise & Fall with Sting.

Added to the great collection of garage-influenced tunes are three new tracks, but ironically these mediocre add-ons detract from what would otherwise be a must-buy.

Insomnia, produced by Jim Beanz of Timbaland Productions, uses too much synthesizer on the vocals, making it indistinct from other contemporary R&B artists.

Where's Your Love, featuring grime artist Tinchy Stryder, is seemingly a tribute to the garage genre that made David a star, but is unfortunately other-worldly.

If you don't know David's music, this disc is sensible start. But if you want to hear him at his best, grab a copy of his debut.
