Shanghai Far East Securities has adopted key technology from United States-based Blue Coat Systems for an undisclosed sum to protect its online financial services from malicious attacks. It deployed Blue Coat's ProxySG appliances in front of its server computers to block internet threats, such as denial-of-service attacks, which can overwhelm servers with data to shut them down, and enable a secure Web portal that allows customers to access online financial services applications.
