Appeal for accident witnesses Police appealed yesterday for information on a traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan at 12.34am on December 16 in which a 50-year-old motorist was seriously injured. The man, whose car hit a water-filled barrier and overturned while turning left from Tung Chau Street into Lai Chi Kok Road, died in Princess Margaret Hospital on December 23. Woman fights her mother A 26-year-old woman armed with a knife and her 58-year-old mother armed with a clothes-hanging fork attacked each other during a dispute in their flat on Fuk Loi Estate, Tsuen Wan, at 1.20am. Police arrested both women, who were treated for minor injuries at Yan Chai Hospital. Worker falls from scaffolding A 47-year-old man was in serious condition in Princess Margaret Hospital after losing his balance on scaffolding he was dismantling and falling 6 metres onto a flowerbed in Kin Tung Road, Tung Chung. Man kicks mediating policeman A police officer was kicked while trying to mediate in a dispute between two men aged 21 and 28 in Ma Tin Road, Yuen Long, at about 3am. The older man was arrested for assault. The policeman was taken to Pok Oi Hospital for a check-up. Bus passengers hurt in collision Two passengers were slightly injured when a double-decker bus and car collided outside the Sha Tin exit of Lion Rock Tunnel at about 7.45am. The injured were treated at Prince of Wales Hospital. Vandal targets shops A vandal sprayed the gates of two shops in Tong Mi Road and Palm Street, Mong Kok, with paint and jammed the key holes of the padlocks at about 6am. Immigration raids on flats Police and immigration officers arrested 19 mainland women aged 18 to 39 for breaching conditions of stay in raids on three flats in Nanking Street, Yau Ma Tei.
