A married detective has denied raping an 18-year-old he met on the internet and invited to his home to learn how to load games onto her PSP hand-held game device.

Choi Chai-him, 33, formerly attached to the crime unit of Sham Shui Po police station, is alleged to have raped the girl on February 27 last year at his home at the West Kowloon Disciplined Services Quarters in Tai Kok Tsui. The Court of First Instance heard Choi admitted having sex with her but claimed she consented.

Senior prosecutor Jasmine Ching Wai-ming said the pair became acquainted on the internet and the alleged rape took place on the first occasion they had met face to face.

Ms Ching said the woman told Choi she did not know how to download games for her PSP so Choi invited her to travel from her Tung Chung home to his flat so he could teach her. He helped her download some games and she started to play them on a couch in the living room, where Choi was sitting and watching television.

He started to touch her but she told him to stop and demanded to leave, Ms Ching said. Choi ignored her request, wrapping his legs around her to prevent her from leaving.
