A man appeared in the District Court yesterday accused of following a woman into her home and molesting her 12 years ago. He was arrested last year in relation to another case.
Ng Chi-chung, 47, pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary and indecent assault yesterday.
He allegedly broke into a flat in Siu Hei Court, Tuen Mun, on November 19, 1996, carrying a screwdriver with the intention of raping a woman.
The court was told Ng was arrested while appearing in Eastern Court on April 18 last year after police discovered his fingerprints matched ones from the 1996 crime scene.
In his opening submission yesterday, prosecutor Michael Leung Hung-kuk said Ng had followed the victim into a lift after she arrived at her building around 6pm.
When she opened her security gate, Ng allegedly threatened her with the screwdriver and pushed her into the flat.
Mr Leung said Ng tied her hands with tape he had been carrying, blindfolded her and covered her mouth with towels.
