CMA Secondary School
CMA Secondary School's 33rd annual Athletic Meet was held on November 24 and December 3 at Wan Chai Sports Ground. Members of the four Houses - Red, Brown, Yellow and Green - took part in individual and team competitions.
Joseph Lau Man-wai, vice-president of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, was the guest-of-honour.
Mr Lau said the Athletic Meet provided a good lesson for students - 'failure is the mother of success'.
To achieve their goals, students should keep improving and never give up, he added.
School supervisor, Vitus Szeto Kin, praised the students' performance and team spirit.
Yellow House were the overall champions while Red House won the best cheering team award.
A total of six new group records were established at the competition.
SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School
The 36th Speech Day of SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School was held on December 4. The occasion was well attended. Dignitaries included the Most Reverend  Paul Kwong, Archbishop and Primate of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui.
In the principal's report, Rhonda Leung pointed out that the school embraced whole-person development.
The highlight of the afternoon came when Wong Wai-yu took the stage. She won an HKSAR Government Scholarship, the Tsuen Wan Rural Committee Scholarship and the Charles Frankland Moore Award.
Joint School Volunteers' Association
Set up in 1985, the Joint School Volunteers' Association (JSVA) is a student-based, non-profit organisation which acts as a bridge connecting secondary students and society.
By organising various training programmes and volunteer service projects, JSVA aims to raise social awareness among students and help them develop their full potential.
The 23rd executive committee of the JSVA (2008-2009) was newly selected, with Dolphin Chan from Queen's College as president.
Jacqueline Thong of Diocesan Girls' School and Eiki Leung from Good Hope School have been appointed external and internal vice-presidents, respectively.
Isman Que and Hung Ting-ka, both of Wah Yan College, Hong Kong, are the organisation's external and internal secretaries, respectively.
The two service directors are Jack Chan of St Paul's College and Christopher Lau of Diocesan Boys' School. Sharon Choi of Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K. T. Chong Sixth Form College has become the JSVA's new promotions director.
The treasurer and the administrative director are Jennifer Chan and Hilkie Law from Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section), respectively.
