Citic Securities, the mainland's biggest brokerage, has recruited a senior executive from China Life Insurance to reinforce its investment team. Liu Lefei, the chief investment officer of China Life, would leave the company and assume a post at Citic, the country's biggest insurer said yesterday. The statement did not elaborate on what responsibilities Mr Liu would shoulder at the brokerage. China Life and its parent company are the major shareholders of the securities firm. Mr Liu was among the first batch of top company executives on the mainland who publicly demonstrated bearishness on the stock market. In March, he said China Life would adjust its stock portfolio in anticipation of a market downturn, indicating the insurer would offload shares.
