The popular trainer has had a good opening to 2009 and failed by just a whisker yesterday to make it a double on the day. Great Achievement was having just his third run back from a long lay-off in the High Island Handicap and went within a short head of holding out Watch What Happens on the all-weather. Man earlier scored with Moonglow, who benefited from the strong riding of Belgian champion Christophe Soumillon before taking the Class Five to the relief of punters who backed him down to 2.7 favourite for the Tai Tam Handicap. Despite a suitable speed for the regular backmarker, Soumillon was hard at work as they straightened and needed all his vigour to land the prize by less than a length. After a slow getaway for the term, Man has picked up speed more recently with Moonglow his fourth victory since the beginning of the new year to take him to nine wins in all.
