Fake-phone dealer pleads guilty

Lee Chak-man, 20, unemployed, pleaded guilty yesterday in Kwun Tong Court to two counts of obtaining property by deception. Sentencing was adjourned to a later date. Lee advertised his Nokia mobile phone online in May last year and traded it for an iPhone and HK$600. The buyer later discovered the Nokia was a fake.

6 years' jail for molester father

An unemployed man was jailed for six years for molesting his daughter for almost three years from when she was in Primary Five. The man, 55, had pleaded guilty in the District Court to indecent assault.

Man jailed over immigration scam

Hongkonger Ferdinand Cheng Foo-kwok, 48, who aided an immigration scam, was jailed for 12 months after being convicted in Sha Tin Court of conspiracy to obtain services by deception. The court heard that a mainlander trying to board a flight in 2007 had a forged Hong Kong passport and identity card, for which he paid a middleman 110,000 yuan (HK$125,000).
