When 25-year-old Taiwanese actor Berlin Chen Bo-lin, famous for his role in Blue Gate Crossing (2002), was matched to star opposite his childhood idol, Hong Kong star Gigi Leung Wing-kei, on the Joe Ma Wai-ho-directed drama Girl Love, he was overcome by shyness. At a press conference for the film, about an odd couple falling in love amid a complex family relationship, at Hung Hom's Harbour Plaza Metropolis on Monday, Chen said: 'Yes, I was really shy when I first met her on set. It felt surreal, as she is my favourite Hong Kong female artist and, growing up in Taiwan, I had never imagined that we would ever work together on a project.' He was surprised at how tall Leung was in real life - 178cm. Leung, 32, was asked whether she felt old knowing Chen had been a childhood fan of hers. 'Not at all,' she said. 'Actually, I am honoured. I entered the entertainment industry when I was 19 and I have been in the business for more than a decade now. Of course I will have fans of different ages.'
