A company director who lashed out and dented a taxi that had clipped him while he was walking through Happy Valley has been placed on a one-year good behaviour bond. John Yung Con-sing, 40, a director of the Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank, will have to pay HK$1,000 and face any additional charges if he commits a crime within a year. Earlier, Yung pleaded not guilty before Eastern Court Magistrate Douglas Yau Tak-hong to one count of criminal damage. Having handed down the bindover order, Mr Yau dismissed the charge. Yung allegedly damaged the taxi on November 2 in Tai Hang Road, Happy Valley. The driver, Wong Lai-ming, claimed he saw Yung walking and had heard a bang as they passed. He stopped and saw the rearview mirror had clipped Yung. He heard another bang and saw there was a dent on the left of the hood. Mr Wong had to pay HK$2,500 for repairs, which Yung repaid by way of compensation. Yung declined to comment after the hearing.
