Love is a lifelong commitment kept alive by concern and respect for each other, according to television actress Lily Leung Sun-yin and her husband, William Yuen Lai-ming.
The couple have plenty of experience - in October, they will celebrate their 60th anniversary. They met at a drama society when Leung, now in her 70s, was just 14 years old, marrying three years later.
And since then, every day has been a happy day, they said yesterday on the eve of Valentine's Day.
'I got married and gave birth to three children before entering the television industry. It was my husband who encouraged me to [go into television],' said Leung, known for her role in the TVB drama A Kindred Spirit.
Mr Yuen added: 'We were the leading actor and actress in society. I knew Lily liked it, so why not lead a life in that direction?'
The pair spend as much time together as possible. Mr Yuen, who was in the military before his retirement, used to accompany Leung to work and back home every day. 'There was one day when a typhoon hit the city, and the floodwaters reached to the level of my chest. Lily still needed to go to work and I travelled with her on a boat,' the octogenarian said.
