Singer-actress Gigi Leung Wing-kei says she has moved on from her previous relationship with singer-actor Ekin Cheng Yee-kin and wants everyone else to do the same.
'I have let him [Cheng] go a long time ago,' Leung said. 'It is the media who are still linking us together. Come on, please, let me move on.'
Her high-profile seven-year relationship with Cheng ended three years ago and Cheng is now dating television actress Yoyo Mung Ka-wai.
When we last interviewed Leung two years ago for her role in the Barbara Wong Chun-chun directed Wonder Woman (2007), the actress was reluctant to talk about her break-up. Now, two years on, Leung, 32, is more open about it. 'I can talk about him now. There are no more hard feelings for me,' Leung said.
'I think I was allowed to have a bit of emotion not long after the break-up but over time, I have learned that it is okay to show my own feelings, both happy and unhappy,' she said.
'I think the more that I can openly talk about my previous relationship, it means I can completely let go of it and recover from it. In contrast, I think the more I hide from my own feelings and am unable to face the truth, the longer I will suffer,' she said.
