Mobile environmental classroom to take message on the road
CLP Power  has converted a truck into a mobile classroom, complete with a 3-D theatre, to teach primary students about protecting the environment. Schools can book a visit via  www.clpgreenliving.com.hk or 26784001.
Nursing school gets donation
Polytechnic University has received a donation of HK$30 million from a health care company  towards its research into a painless blood glucose meter for diabetes patients. Invented by the School of Nursing, the patented meter will offer painless collection of blood samples from  diabetic patients.  
Scheme to curb plastic bag use
The Education Bureau, Committee on Home-School Co-operation and Dairy Farm have launched a scheme to curb the use of plastic bags among primary students. The Little Green Ambassador Scheme  will give awards to students who refuse plastic bags on shopping trips. 
Maritime centre given HK$10m
Polytechnic University has received a HK$10 million donation for its  maritime studies centre from a  foundation set up by late shipping magnate Tung Chao-yung. The centre will be named after Tung.
Author invited for workshops
Baptist University has invited  Taiwanese author Huang Chun-ming to host writing workshops.  The former teacher, reporter and director is famed for his portrayals of rural folk.
