I bought a TDK USB flash drive and moved all my films and pictures on to it. I changed the password and now I keep getting warnings telling me I'm entering the wrong one. I tried five variations but now I'm scared to try the sixth and final attempt, because if it's incorrect, the drive will destroy my data. Will TDK in Hong Kong open it for me if I take it in person? Kevin, Tai Po DQ: The sad truth is that you may well lose everything. Some of these devices allow you to determine how many tries you get with the password and if that is the case, the manufacturer may be able to change it to more than the standard six attempts. You will have to contact TDK's head office in Holland and explain what the problem is. They will almost certainly want some kind of proof that you are the owner of the device. If that does not work, your only other option is to see if you can find someone who can hack into it - and I do not need to tell you how risky that would be. I have been pulling my hair out trying to get my wireless network to work. I set up an Airport Express with no problem. I then wanted to use an Airport Extreme as the base and the Airport Express as a wireless 'booster' in another room. Even though I enter the same data, the Extreme refuses to work. How can this be? Name and address supplied DQ: This is not an uncommon frustration and most of the time, it comes down to something simple. If the retailer won't come out and help, you will probably have to start from scratch. The manual shows you how to reset everything but remember to have your passwords and logon ID handy before you start. I also suggest you give the device a name, otherwise you will be stuck with a number, which can be difficult to remember.
