Miss Photogenic fined for stealing magazine

A former winner of the Miss Photogenic title in ATV's Miss Asia Pageant was fined HK$1,000 yesterday for stealing a fashion magazine from the Central Library.

Judy Tsang Man, 22, who won the title in 2006, pleaded not guilty in Eastern Court to stealing a copy of the magazine Dolly, saying she had mixed it up with other booklets in an envelope.

But magistrate Gary Lam Kar-yan rejected her explanation.

The court heard that Tsang was stopped when the library's alarm rang as she left the building in December last year and the magazine was found in her envelope.

Tsang told the court she had been surprised when the magazine was found.

She said she had dropped it and the booklets in the library when she rushed to answer a phone call.
