File category III

CLOSE-UP shots of genitals are permitted in Category III videos, but not when engaged in explicitly sexual acts, according to a decision announced by the Obscene Articles Tribunal yesterday.

The court made its ruling when giving a Category III rating to the American-made video Loving Better on condition that 21 excisions were made.

The tribunal had initially passed the film as suitable for people aged 18 or above, but viewed the film again after an appeal from the Television and Licensing Authority which said 61 segments should be removed.
