What do you think of Hong Kong's waterfront parks?
Hong Kong is surrounded by water and we should all be entitled to have easy access to those sea views which we treasure.
The government has constructed many waterfront parks for its citizens. Most of them are very well constructed, have some beautiful landscaping and good views of the sea. They are very popular with Hongkongers who use them to relax. However, there are some parks that are not so well designed ('Waterfront parks come under fire', March 10).
Take, for example, the waterfront park at Hoi Bun Road. This is an industrial area and not many people visit it at weekends or during public holidays. Not many residents use it, even though it is only a 10-minute walk from the town centre. This is because the signs are inadequate; therefore some people do not even know there is a park there.
It is very similar to the North Point waterfront park near the ICAC headquarters mentioned in your report. I think the government should put up more signs showing where these parks are located, especially at MTR stations and nearby roads. In addition, there should be more toilets and some snack shops.
I hope the government can make the necessary improvements.
