Time to take a nap
Here are some new words that we can use to talk about falling asleep during the day (when we should be wide awake).
1 to snooze = to sleep lightly for a short while
2 to take a catnap = to have a very short sleep
3 to have a siesta = to have a rest or sleep after lunch
4 to doze = to  sleep lightly
5 to have a lie-down = to take a rest on a bed
6 to have a kip = to have a quick sleep, often sitting up 
7 to have a zizz = a very informal way of saying to have a short sleep
8 to catch forty winks = to have a short sleep during the day
9 to have a nap = to have a short sleep during the day
10 to get some shut-eye = to get some much needed sleep  
Sentence building
Use the vocabulary from above to complete these sentences. Use the correct form of the suggested vocabulary item for each sentence.

Are you tired?
There are different degrees of being tired, from being just a little bit tired to being extremely tired. Here are some 'tired' words.
a exhausted = very, very tired
b sleepy = tired and wanting to fall asleep 
c drowsy = half-asleep and half-awake
d worn out = extremely tired through working  very hard 
e beat = very tired
f shattered = very tired
g dog-tired = very tired and unable to do anything
h dozy = almost falling asleep

Time for  a catnap
