Diocesan Boys' School (DBS) and Diocesan Girls' School (DGS) won the overall titles at the Inter-school Athletics Championships (Hong Kong Island and Kowloon) Division One finals last week.
It was the sixth consecutive crown for DBS, while DGS topped Grade A, Grade B and Grade C during a dominant display.
Several Hong Kong and junior record holders took part in the three-day competition which ended at the Wan Chai Sports Ground on Friday.
The boys' category has been fiercely contested by DBS and La Salle College in the past and this year was no different.
But DBS had the edge. With Olympics sprinter Lai Chun-ho and 200-metre and 400-metre specialist Chan Yan-lam in their lineup, DBS beat La Salle to the overall championship.
It was the last inter-school contest for Form Seven student Chun-ho. He did not disappoint his supporters, winning the 100 metres, 200 metres and 100-metre relay.
'For me, the inter-school competition is as good as the Olympics,' Chun-ho said. 'Knowing that it's my last chance to represent my school in an athletics competition, it gave me a lot of pressure.
