1. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart - Al Green I've heard this song in many film soundtracks, like in Notting Hill (1999) and Sex and the City (2008). It's a blues song and it's how I got to know Al Green and his music.
2. Gift - Gigi Leung It's one of the most satisfying songs I've written in recent years. I was inspired by a book called The Present, in which there's a line: 'The present is the present' and this is the message I want to bring out with this song. I'm so looking forward to my fans listening to this song and sharing the ups and downs in my love journey.
3. Almost Over You - Sheena Easton I was introduced to this song at a Sandy Lam Yik-lin concert and I immediately fell in love with it. It's about a woman letting go of her previous love. The lyrics are just so moving.
4. Wish - Sandy Lam Yik-lin This is the theme song for a film called Twenty Something (1994) by Teddy Chan Tak-sum. The lyrics are so sad, yet so beautiful at the same time. It depicts the fragile hearts among some troubled teenagers who are craving to be loved.
5. Lover - Beyond I've been listening to Beyond since I was at school. Unlike the band's usual rock style, Lover is very different. It talks about the passion for love. I think Beyond are just legends.
