The older we get, the more memories we have. We have happy memories, but we also have unhappy ones.

Scientists recently reported that a heart drug could be used to help people forget their unhappy memories.

But I think this is a very bad idea. Whether memories are happy or not, they are part of who you are. What makes people different from one another is not really their DNA, but their different experiences and the way they deal with them. Even twins, who have the same DNA, are different because of their different experiences and memories.

Head injury patients often lose their memories. This is extremely devastating, because it means they've lost track of who they are. Even when they are healthy, if they can't remember their past, they feel incomplete.

We should treasure all our memories. We are composed of our memories, and they are all precious.
