The e-commerce revolution brought about by the internet has seen the logistics industry striving to stay ahead of the curve.
Now the gap between online shopping and the physical world of shipping is being bridged thanks to a deal announced by eBay Hong Kong and UPS.
Select eBay users in Hong Kong can benefit from a UPS proprietary online shipping solution that improves business efficiency and enhances their reliability as vendors.
The partnership gives eBay PowerSellers a virtual shipping centre on their desktop that tracks packages throughout the delivery process. Any delivery delays can be anticipated and buyers notified.
Users can also customise the system to meet their trading needs and make their business more efficient.
For instance, information on regular buyers can be stored in address books to save time on future orders. 'Our collaboration with eBay is well-timed as more shoppers turn to online shopping,' said K. K. Leung, managing director of UPS Hong Kong and Macau. 'We are confident that eBay and its PowerSellers will discover the value and competitive edge that UPS can bring to their respective businesses.'
Mr Leung said the service option enabled easy connections with eBay customers and helped guarantee speedy and reliable deliveries in the world's largest online marketplace.
