Wushu coaches knock out competition

Wushu was the big winner in the annual Hongkong Bank Foundation Coaching Awards yesterday, claiming two prizes. Although wushu exponents failed to achieve any major honour at this year's Sports Stars Awards, juniors coach Wong Chi-kwong was crowned coach of the year in the individual events, while Yu Liguang took the same honour in the senior category. The team coaching awards went to Li Huifen of table tennis (senior) and badminton's Liu Zhiheng (junior). Li, the former world champion, took the Hong Kong women's team to a bronze medal at the 2008 world table tennis championships, while the doubles team of Jiang Huajun and Tie Yana clinched a gold medal in the Chile and China Opens respectively.
